Melcher Media teamed up with Daniel Goleman (the New York Times best-selling author of Emotional Intelligence) and Crossbeat New York to create a movement around Goleman’s book, A Force For Good: The Dalai Lama’s Vision for Our World. The book shares the Dalai Lama’s teachings and aspirations for the world’s future and was released prior to his 80th birthday on July 6th, 2015. The initiative is comprised of an elaborate interactive website, a social media campaign, and an original film.

At joinaforce4good.org, users can educate themselves about the Dalai Lama’s vision for the world, get inspired by the compassionate acts of others, or engage in their own act of kindness. The globe on the site’s homepage lights up as users participate—their stories are recorded there alongside stories from others all around the world.

The “Force for Good” film, which we created with the talented team at Humble, shows the universal power of compassion and how all of our small acts can add up to have a big impact. Participants are asked to share it on their social media pages along with our campaign hashtag (#RealGood), to help spread the message that anyone can be a catalyst for positive change.
