Ignoring all sensible cookbook conventions, we built out soulful recipes (like “Somebody Died” Spaghetti, Wild-Style Lasagna, and Prison Pad Thai), styled photos, and designed pages that are as over-the-top and irreverent as Morgan himself––who we worked closely with to ensure the book matched his creative vision. The Last O.G. Cookbook overflows with more than twenty custom-made display fonts, as well as food styling props that include bologna rosettes, a mosaic of Kool-Aid powder, and shag carpet. TBS donated a portion of the proceeds from sales of the book to benefit Drive Change, a charitable organization that helps formerly incarcerated young people with workplace training.

In The Last O.G., comedy legend Tracy Morgan stars as an ex-convict who, upon returning to his hometown of Brooklyn to find his girlfriend (Tiffany Haddish) married to another man and his neighborhood gentrified, must rely on his cooking skills to find his place in a city he often doesn’t recognize. We were thrilled when TBS approached us to create a spinoff book to satisfy fans’ appetites for the show’s fictitious recipes and help extend the O.G. universe.
