To elevate and celebrate the amazing work being done by Microsoft’s scientists in their world-class research facilities, we edited and produced a collection of original science fiction stories. We signed up eight of the most acclaimed authors in the field and arranged for them to travel to Microsoft Research Labs around the globe, where they could be inspired by the breadth of topics explored there—from prediction science and quantum computing to real-time translation, machine learning, and much more.
A Preview of Tomorrow
Each writer created a near-future fictional story exploring the far-reaching effects of Microsoft Research’s innovations. The eight stories were joined by a short graphic novel from two up-and-coming comics creators in a beautiful eBook edition with striking computer-generated illustrations. Future Visions was also released as a handsome, limited-edition hardcover book.
