In 2004, we patented the technology behind our revolutionary DuraBooks, all of which are completely waterproof, durable, and upcyclable. We first ventured into the wacky world of pop-up books in 1999 with our Pop-Up Book of Phobias—a cult hit that inspired us to produce a series of groundbreaking pop-up books for adults.

In 2008, Nike hired our small, West Village–based team to turn its first-ever Nike+ Human Race into a book. We coordinated synchronized photo shoots and original reporting in 25 cities all over the world, and we worked with Nike’s race-day photography team to create a customizable cover experience for each runner.

In 2011, we produced Al Gore’s groundbreaking Our Choice app for the iPad. It won Apple’s prestigious award for best-designed app and helped show the world the full potential of digital publishing platforms. It also catalyzed a new era at Melcher Media: In 2012, we produced the first annual Future of StoryTelling summit, a selective gathering of technology, media, and communications visionaries that explores the impact of technology on storytelling.
