For the occasion of their 30th anniversary, the New York bakery famous for their indulgent cookies asked us to help them tell the story of their small business in a way that was both beautiful and true to their community-centered ethos. We worked closely with the founders, Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes, to create Levain Bakery: A Story of Friendship, Community, and Cookies—an encapsulation of 30 years of hard work and home cooking presented in an elegant yet inviting book.

Handcrafted with Heart

How does a two-person bakery, tucked away in a tiny basement on the Upper West Side, become a coast-to-coast culinary sensation? We worked closely with co-founders Connie and Pam to faithfully capture their unique success story and tell it in their authentic voices.

Adding Flavor

To further flesh out the Levain story, we designed a dozen unique infographics, commissioned more than twenty new illustrations, and captured all-new photos of Levain’s bakeries, process, employees, and customers. We also helped select and develop five delicious recipes to include so readers can have a taste of Levain at home.

Designed to Delight

We created a chic but welcoming package, reminiscent of Levain’s famous cookie tins, that would catch readers’ eyes and feel good in their hands. The book’s design features special touches, such as a silk ribbon and a stained block, to give it a particularly deluxe character.
